Jamiia’s Upcoming Performance
Coming March 28th 2025, Jamiia Franklin will be performing with fellow friends of The SMSE Jazz ensemble, Iridescent Bloom, and The Sandwich Quartet in the conclusion to her collegiate recitals. This special set features several influential oboe works including: Grazyna Bacewicz’s Oboe Sonata and Carl Nielsen’s Fantasistykker (Fantasy Pieces).
Jamiia’s 2024 Recital Series
Jamiia’s performed within several ensembles during 2024 in which she: partook in several world premieres, a ballet with EMU’s symphony orchestra and students of EMU’s dance program, and performed with EMU’s marching band at Ford Field. Jamiia Franklin loves collaborating in these larger ensemble settings. However, she feels called to her smaller, more intimate collaborations through hosting recitals. Through her recitals, Jamiia connects with her audience more than ever: arranging pieces to perform with her friends (and partner), performing expressive oboe solos, and highlighting various groups of musicians Jamiia gigs with.
