Jamiia Franklin On the Oboe
Jamiia Franklin is a classically trained oboist with extensive experience performing for live audiences. Jamiia has 8 years of experience performing within local orchestras, wind ensembles, concert bands, symphonic bands, and chamber groups. In addition, Jamiia has also hosted several oboe recitals for live audiences. These recitals featured works that challenged her as a player and exposed the audience to a wide array of cultures and genres within the oboe repertoire. Jamiia is most familiar with this instrument and, as such, has many recordings to view. This featured recording is a cover of Kingdom Heart’s “Monochrome Dreams.”
Jamiia Franklin On the English Horn
As an oboist, Jamiia has also gained experience performing on the English horn within wind ensembles, concert bands, orchestras, and chamber groups. Within these groups, she’s performed English horn in a musical, opera, and has performed composition debuts. Jamiia has also performed English horn during her first recital, Of Whispers and Dances.
However, Jamiia no longer has access to an English horn and cannot provide a recording or guarantee her ability to sub in for an English horn player. The featured recording for the English horn is Kingdom Heart’s “A Walk In Andante.”
Jamiia Franklin On the Alto Saxophone
Jamiia Franklin has experience playing Alto Saxophone within SMSE Jazz, Iridescent Bloom, and Eastern Michigan University’s marching and concert band. In total, Jamiia has 6 years of experience playing the instrument, 4 of those years performing for live audiences. She has released a few covers featuring the alto saxophone, one original track, and has performed countless improv solos with the instrument. This featured recording is a cover of Kingdom Heart’s “Traverse Town Theme”.
Jamiia Franklin On the Clarinet
Jamiia has over a decade of performing experience on the clarinet, her first instrument. Even after Jamiia swapped her primary instrument to oboe, she still performed on the Bb clarinet within her high school’s marching band and eventually, would pick it up again for gigs and performances. Jamiia now subs in the Bb soprano clarinet and bass clarinet section within local ensembles.
As a bass clarinetist, Jamiia has performed 2 compositional debuts, accompanied a soloist competition winner, and was a featured chamber group performer for a colleague’s recital.
Jamiia Franklin On The Bass Guitar
Jamiia’s newest instrument, bass guitar already has a featured composition (under Jamiia Love on streaming services). Additionally, Jamiia has performed with several groups including Iridescent Bloom of which she is a founding member and bass guitarist. At this time, Jamiia only has access to an electric bass guitar. This featured recording is a melodic, somber, electric bass guitar song.
